Dear compatriots!

Eighty-one years ago, along with millions of representatives of other countries and peoples, thanks also to the heroism and dedication of the sons of Tajikistan, the world was freed from the plague of fascism, and this date is annually celebrated as Victory Day.

In this regard, I sincerely congratulate the war participants, home front veterans and the glorious people of Tajikistan.

Victory Day over Fascism is celebrated annually by the peace-loving peoples of most countries around the world, as humanity, especially in today's turbulent times, increasingly recognizes the value of peace, tranquility, justice, and humanity, and honors the memory of the good deeds and heroic deeds of their ancestors, who defended the freedom and bright future of today's generations.

World War II affected approximately 80 percent of the world's population at the time and resulted in the deaths of millions of civilians.

From the first days of the war, people from Tajikistan actively participated in the battles of this war and contributed to ensuring a historic victory.

Tajikistan, whose population at the start of the war was one and a half million people, mobilized more than 300,000 of its children to fight.

More than 100 thousand of them died on the battlefield, about 40 thousand went missing.

For heroism in World War II, 58,000 Tajik officers and soldiers were awarded orders and medals, and the high title of "Hero of the Soviet Union" was awarded to 55 people for bravery and heroism.

The heroism and dedication of the sons of Tajikistan embody the valuable contribution of our people to this great victory and to ensuring peace and security throughout the world.

The memory of the good deeds and selflessness of those who did not return from the battlefield will never be forgotten, and respect for war and labor veterans will always be maintained.

It should be noted that Tajikistan's contribution was significant not only on the battlefield, but also in the rear.

Women, children, and the elderly, despite suffering from hunger and other hardships of wartime, worked around the clock, making a worthy contribution to achieving victory.

Our people, experiencing a shortage of food and other vital goods, sent grain and food products, clothing and money to the front.

In addition, more than 45,000 Tajik residents were sent to industrial enterprises in other regions of the former Soviet Union, and a significant portion of them were mobilized to the front.

Also during the war, over 100,000 people – mostly women and children – were evacuated from various war-torn regions to Tajikistan; our land became their second home.

Today, more than 80 years after the end of the most tragic and terrible war of the 20th century, the global community once again finds itself at a very difficult and dangerous juncture.

Particularly dangerous processes, including acute confrontations between world powers, military operations and armed conflicts, the escalating arms race, "hybrid" and "cold" wars, as well as the expansion of subversive activities by terrorist and extremist organizations, seriously disrupt the peaceful life, stability, and development of the planet's population.

Tajikistan, which found itself embroiled in an imposed civil war after gaining independence, is well aware of the grave and tragic consequences of such processes.

Based on this, we attach primary importance to ensuring peace and stability, peaceful life throughout the world, and always advocate for the resolution of any contradictions and conflicts exclusively by peaceful means.

In this regard, it should be emphasized that the defense of the Motherland, the protection of peace and tranquility, ensuring political stability, strengthening national unity and self-awareness, as well as the foundations of the statehood of the Tajik people are a sacred and honorable duty for every conscious and worthy citizen.

I express with complete confidence that our people, especially our patriotic and devoted youth, will continue to protect and strengthen these priceless blessings – peace, tranquility, unity, and cohesion – with gratitude for independence and freedom, with pride for our homeland and statehood, and for the complete stability of our country.

Once again, I congratulate the war participants, labor veterans, and all residents of the country on the 81st anniversary of Victory Day. I wish them good health, happiness, and a prosperous life, and to our beloved Tajikistan – eternal peace and stability.

Happy Victory Day, dear compatriots!
