As established during operational investigative activities, a 61-year-old resident of the city of Gissar was engaged in fortune telling and witchcraft, receiving money from citizens for this and spending it for personal purposes.

Previously, on September 25, 2025, she had already been held administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan and fined 76 minimum monthly wages. However, the woman failed to learn any lessons and continued her activities.

It was also established that a 56-year-old resident of the Vakhsh district also practiced witchcraft on February 27, 2026, in Dushanbe. An administrative case was then opened against him and he was fined 6,240 somoni.

Despite this, the man again took up fortune telling and witchcraft on April 20, 2026, this time at his place of residence.

A criminal case has been opened against him under Article 240 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. Investigative actions are ongoing.
